When you look into the happy, dancing eyes of your pet, you see a spark of love that warms your heart. These furry children give absolute, unconditional adoration to us--asking nothing but that we hug them, ruffle the fuzzy places between their ears, and give them a lilted-voiced, "Good boy!" or "Good girl!" We believe there is a bond between them and us that just had to be cemented by supernatural influence--by the Creator--and we've included Scripture to back up our contention. Do Our Pets Go to Heaven? is a book intended to explore the relationship between you and your pets...to, as far as possible, embrace the understanding that the death of those wonderful family members we love so much can be the door to a forever that is filled with unending love. The world of pets--for that matter, of animals in general--is a phenomenal mix of interaction and curiosity. This book presents some of the facets of those interactions and curiosities that we believe will cause you to want to keep returning to its pages time after time. The writers of Do Our Pets Go to Heaven? have poured much of ourselves into this volume. It is an investment of love we want to share with you, who we know also love your furry family members with all your hearts.

My daughter lost one of her two beloved cats before Christmas. His name was Petruchio. He was part Russian Blue and she raised him from a kitten. He developed bowel inflammation problems for a few years that turned to cancer later and also developed kidney problems that became kidney failure. After a long regimen of conservative treatment,he did not improve and lost a lot of weight and became weaker and looked uncomfortable. He was 15 years old. My daughter finally made the painful decision to have him euthanized. She so loved him.It was so hard for her.We cried together on the phone for days. She had it done at home with him on her lap and her husband beside her.I will never forget what she said to me afterward." Mom,this can't be the end of him.It just can't!" So I researched and found this book. It's very comforting and scriptural. So I sent her a copy and it has been a comfort to her.I hope it does the same for others who have lost a beloved pet.

Do Our Pets Go to Heaven? edition by Terry James Thomas Horn Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

This book really comforted my mother and I after we lost our 21 year old Lhasa Apso. The first half is full of scriptural basis and the second half is more personal stories. Well worth reading!
Great book to read before or after losing a beloved pet.
I love how the personal experiences of the writers is woven in this book. I have come to believe the same beliefs that the authors have written about many years ago. I'm glad I have been on the right track!
The very first chapter by Thomas Horn is awesome (he did his homework for sure) but the rest of the book is not very mentally/scripturally challenging. Meaning, break out the theological big guns with other scriptures that nails down that animals are eternal beings. According to many, many passages they show animals already in heaven and will be in the millennial kingdom. Also, the authors do not do very well with the passage in Ecclesiastes at all. That scripture needs to be studied in context in order to better interpret it correctly. Ecclesiastes is a strange book to begin with and Solomon was viewing life without God in the world and all is vanity. The best book out there on animal afterlife is COLD NOSES AT THE PEARLY GATES, by Gary Kurz. This book clears everything up for us that want to see our babies again. Best investment you will ever make I can assure you. I bought the regular book and the kindle edition so I will have it when I really need it when my pets return unto the Lord.
The first two chapters actually address the subject of the title. The rest of the book is random essays that have varying levels of interest. I find the book chaotic. But I awarded it three stars because the essay by Tom Horn, "Pets in Heaven, What Does the Bible Say" is informative, interesting and all by itself worth the price of the book .
This book is not bad, but half of the book is about the author sharing his personal pet stories. Thankfully the author uses a lot of scripture to support the belief that our companions do meet us again. If it is based on scriptures, it is truth. When life is based on man's conjectures, it is faulty-- at best.
My husband is a veterinarian. We are true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. We love all His awesome creation-- all creatures big and small-- and do believe that our beloved companions will indeed be with us again as we live eternity with our Savior together.
We have had many different breeds of dogs, and from the big (rottweiler) to the small (chihuahua and pug), they all are sweet, loving, welcoming to all visitors, and happy companions. Scripture never says that our pets do not go to Heaven, however, scripture does elude to all of creation being redeemed with Christ once again! Amen!
Excellent info, and inspiring, too. The writing, though, is a bit uneven...

I'd suggest 2 'other' books 'There Is Eternal Life for Animals', and 'Will I See Fido in Heaven?', both available from . The study of what the Hebrew words in the OT actually meant is excellent, and easy to understand. Both books reinforce the belief that we WILL see our little ones again in heaven (but--remember-- we need to be sure 'we'll' be there, 'too'!)
One other I've enjoyed is Friar Jack's, 'Will I See My Dog in Heaven'? While not as much a teaching book, it is very warmly affirming what Franciscans believe---that God 'gave' us our pets, and in His Love, will allow us to be 'reunited'!
